Members of the Association took part in the 100KMay challenge and Lockdown Personal Best in May as a way to get out and work on physical and mental health.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM for the Scottish LGBTI Police Association for the first time was held at Falkirk Municipal building in November 2019. Every year this is an opportunity to see what has been accomplished over the past 12 months, to celebrate successes and plan for the next year. This was a voting year and saw the election of a revised Executive committee, welcoming new members and revised plans for the year ahead. If you would like to participate in some of the projects for the upcoming year or would like more information on committee roles then we would like to hear from you. LGBTI Recruitment Event

On the 26th of October 2019 in collaboration with the Association and the Positive Action team from Police Scotland held the first ever LGBTI Focused recruitment day at Jackton Police College. All the speakers at the event were serving officers and staff from the LGBTI community or Allies. The event was held to encourage those who are LGBT to consider a career in policing and the options available within Police Scotland. Speakers included a variety of ranks including DCC Fiona Taylor, T/CI Cath McNally and Insp Stephen French. Also specialist officers gave inputs regarding Public order, Traffic, Firearms and Operational Safety Training. Plans are underway to hold similar events in the in North and East of Scotland. CONFERENCE 2018

The Scottish LGBTI Police Association hosted the annual UK & Ireland LGBTI Police Conference between the 22nd and 24th June 2018 at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan, Fife. This page celebrates the legacy of the conference including video, photographs and a report.

135 delegates representing 38 UK and Ireland police forces were greeted on the first day to a Civic Reception sponsored by Fife Council. a welcome address by the Provost of the Kingdom of Fife and a string quartet from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This was followed by a social including an LGBTI themed quiz. Day 2 began with a morning 'rainbow run' (for those up early enough) and the first full conference day. A cocktail reception and Gala Dinner followed including a spectacular performance from the Award-winning Cumbernauld Gaelic Choir. Continuing the 'Scottish' theme, the evening ended with a traditional ceilidh. Day 3 continued with more conference speakers and presentation of the Julie Barnes-Frank Award which this year was presented to Superintendent Foy from PSNI.
