LGBT HISTORY MONTH 2022 - Virtual Events
LGBT History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history.
To mark the occasion we have collated accounts from serving police officers and staff within the LGBT community and LGBT allies to highlight changes within society and the Police.

Wellbeing Workshop
Thursday 3rd Feb, 2 - 3pm

Held on Time to Talk day, mental health guru PS Laura Gibson explores tips and tricks on how to improve your wellbeing. ​

A Trans Perspective

A fantastic opportunity to hear from members of the trans and non-binary community. A chance to ask questions and hear more about current issues in respect of gender identity with a view to enhancing a policing understanding of issues within the trans and non-binary community.

Tuesday 15th Feb, 6.30pm

LGBT+ Focused recruitment event run by Police Scotland's Positive Action Team giving potential candidates an insight into the role of a police office, what happens during the recruitment process and the types of training our officers undertake. Event will be opened by ACC Tim Mairs.

Ch Supt Rob Hay will be opening the session with a quick overview around Police Scotland Allies then introducing TIE (Time for Inclusive Education) who will be providing an input on how to be a good Ally.

Chem Sex Awareness Workshop Friday 18th Feb, 1 - 3pm
Terrence Higgins Trust will deliver an input specifically focused around Chem Sex and the opportunity to learn more in this area.
Following on from the Stephen Port enquiry and Metropolitan Police response. This is aimed at those in CID/PPU and SOLO roles within the organisation.

Fantastic opportunity to hear from Sarah, she was the first person to be ordained in the Church of England having previously made a gender change. In 2005 she was outed to the media. The story was covered in newspapers, radio, television and blogs throughout the world.
She ministered in Hereford Diocese for 14 years before becoming the vicar of central Cardiff in 2018.
